Dr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of the University of Scranton and George Washington University School of Medicine. After spending two years with the Department of Internal Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and serving two years as a General Medical Officer with the U S Army, he completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital.
He also completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital, which is now Brown University.
He has over 40 years of experience as an orthopedic surgeon with South County Orthopedics, which he founded, and as Team Physician with the University of Rhode Island. He is currently a member of the Council of Delegates for the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, representing the State of Rhode Island
He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.
Dr. Fitzgerald is licensed in the State of Rhode Island and is a member of the Credentials Committee of South County Hospital in Wakefield, R.I.
